Taste Paradise @ ION Orchard

THIS IS A MUST!
Sumptuous Cantonese cuisine at a prime location....at very affordable rate!

All of a sudden, we embraced the rise of Taste Group in our sunny island. As a consumer, I warmly welcomes competition =) Taste competes directly with Crystal Jade and Imperial group. The latter 2 has been around for a pretty long while, and it's always fresh to have new dim sum places.

Taste has a handful of private rooms, the picture below shows the main dining area. Pretty posh isn't it?

Before I go into the details, every dish seems to be made to order so they came hot and yummy. thumbs up!

Water chestnut drink

BBQ Pork Pastry ($3.90 for 3)

Prawn Cheong Fun ($5.50)
Oops, this is obviously appetizing...that I almost forgot to snap a pic for your viewing pleasure =)

Scallop Cheong Fun ($5.50)
Prawn is better than scallop, as scallop is too small here so I ended up having more Cheong Fun skin than the scallop filling

Chicken Feet ($3.80 for 4 feets)
This has got to be my all time favourite. Its this dish that turned me into a chicken feet lover! I could have 2 servings by myself..actions speaks louder than words.
*on another note, I personally like the chicken feet at imperial treasure even more, as the one at imperial tastes even more spicy than this one at Taste*

Shark's fin dumpling soup ($7.80)
Another of my fav at taste. Add some ginger and vinegar, your tummy will be smiling with warmth. *during peak meal hours, this dish could take a good 15 mins to be served.*

Custard Bun ($4.50)

Just look at the lightly salted egg sweet custard filling OOZING out...bet you are already convinced without even needing to read my description.

Wanton in Spicy Chilli Oil ($4.80)

Glutinous Rice with Chicken ($4.20 for 2)
Just the right size!

Typical Siew Mai ($4.80)

Pictionary summary of other dishes available..... Pork with black bean sauce, prawn dumpling (ha gao), wan tan in spicy sauce, xiao long bao ( xlb is a fail )
On another note, their desserts are tasty (typical dishes such as mango with pomelo , yam paste, aloe vera with plum are all very tasty) but portions are small for the price.

Overall rating:8/10
Highlights: Approximate $25~30/pax, affordable considering the prime location.Reservation is a must. Don't bother going unless you want to eat at 2pm...
