Medz @ Orchard Central

Medz is a relatively new "Marche"-styled restaurant. Owned by...Food Junction! Surprise Surprise. (Cox it's actually pretty good)
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by friendly waitress. She will hand you a medz card to record the dishes you have ordered throughout the stay and the final amount will be calculated upon check out.

After you have decided which dish to order, pass the medz card to the chef behind the counter and you will receive this "beepinp-ufo". Go back to your seat and when your food is ready, this "beeping-ufo" will alert you to collect your food. *Self-service = no 10% service charge* =)

A wide variety of affordable Mediterranean dishes are available. Let the Drooling begins....

Stop1 - Turkish

Beef Doner Kebab Sandwich ($7)
The grilled sandwich is crispy with hard crust. highlight has to be the special chilli sauce which compliments perfectly.

Shish kebab with Burgul rice- lamb ($6)
Lamb is a bit tough. but the Burgul rice is unique! it's rice + barley. you can also order the Burgul @ $2 as a side dish.

Beef Iskander ($7)
This is hotplate beef with tomato sauce and bite size bread

Stop 2: French

Roasted mushroom ($3)
For weight-conscious ladies, I recommend ordering "less oil" version. This simple dish is stir fried and topped with pine nuts and rocket.

Stop 3: Spain

Seafood with vegetable paella ($12)

 Snapper Skewer ($6)

Stop 4: Greece
Small Salad ($6)
Self service salad means it a test of your balancing & piling skill! The more you can pile, the more value for money you get.
After filling up your plate with the selection of veg available, pass it to their staff and they will drizzle on the sauce of your choice and give it a good toss.
My tip for you: start with the flat veg to build a flat base (eg, sliced grilled capsicum as oppose to odd shaped cauliflower)

 Destination stop

Mango Crepe ($6.50)

Two choices of crepes : Regular vs Crispy. I perfer the in between =) especially impressed with their generous portion of mango. Other flavours available are Strawberry and Peach.

They offer a wide variety of alcohol and beers. I always opt for their fresh squeezed juice ( Star fruit, rock melon and honey dew are my recent raves) .  Their smoothies are not made from fresh cut fruits, so they are not recommended.

Overall Rating:7.5/10
Highlight: DBS/POSB cards enjoy 25% off total bill and 1-1 beer.

  2. I agreed with you on the "Beef Doner Kebab Sandwich", the chilli goes very well with it. One of the few dishes I like to eat there.

Good review and hope to see you there one day, LuLu =)
